Why We’re Out-of-Network
Insurance reimbursement rates for outpatient physical therapy have steadily declined over the past two decades. To stay in-network, many practices schedule patients in 30-minute slots, double- or triple-book providers, and rely on technicians for much of the hands-on work.
Bethany Hansen PT is a fully out-of-network practice. We chose this model so we can spend a full 60 minutes with each patient, every visit, with the same provider every time, no technicians, no rushing, no productivity quotas dictating your care.
What You’ll Pay
- First visit (60-minute evaluation + treatment): Please contact us for current pricing.
- Follow-up visits (60 minutes): Please contact us for current pricing.
- Virtual first and follow-up visits (60 minutes): Please contact us for current pricing.
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA cards.
Using Your HSA or FSA
Pelvic floor physical therapy is an eligible HSA and FSA expense. Most patients use their HSA or FSA card directly at the time of service, no separate paperwork.
Superbills for Out-of-Network Reimbursement
We are able to provide a superbill, an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance company needs in order to consider out-of-network reimbursement. You can submit the superbill, and your insurance reimburses you directly based on your out-of-network benefits.
To check your benefits, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
- “Do I have out-of-network outpatient physical therapy benefits?”
- “What’s my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met?”
- “What percentage do you reimburse after the deductible is met?”
- “Do I need pre-authorization for out-of-network PT?”
- “Are there visit limits per year?”
Good Faith Estimate
Per the federal No Surprises Act, we provide a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before your first visit. View our Good Faith Estimate policy.
Medicare
Brandon Hansen, P.T., is out of network with Medicare and unable to treat Medicare beneficiaries. Medicare rules state that beneficiaries are not allowed to go to an out-of-network provider for physical therapy services that can be provided in-network.
Insurance & Pricing FAQs
Do I need a referral?
No. Minnesota allows direct access for physical therapy, you do not need a doctor’s order to begin.
Will my insurance reimburse me?
It depends on your individual out-of-network benefits. Many patients receive partial reimbursement; some receive none. We’re happy to walk you through the questions to ask your insurance ahead of your first visit.
Can I use Medicare?
Bethany Hansen PT is not enrolled in Medicare. Medicare patients can be seen, but Medicare will not reimburse for our services.
Do you offer payment plans?
We do not offer payment plans.
Is pelvic floor PT worth the cost if it isn’t covered?
That’s your call. Most patients find the time and attention, one provider, full hour, real treatment plan, produces results that fragmented in-network care does not.
